Meet the Team Behind Lambert Home Builds
When you invite a contractor into your home, you’re not just hiring a company — you’re trusting a group of real people with your biggest asset. At Lambert Home Builds, that team is genuinely local, unusually well qualified, and, we’d argue, a little different from the norm. Here’s who you’ll actually meet on site.
Nikki Lambert — Co-Director
Nikki co-directs Lambert Home Builds alongside her husband Ross. Before construction, she spent years working as a medic, and that background still shows: she brings the same diagnostic rigour to assessing a home’s thermal performance that she once brought to diagnosing patients. Nikki leads on retrofit strategy and energy advice, and her qualifications go well beyond what’s typical in the trade — she’s a Level 3 Retrofit Advisor, a Domestic Energy Assessor, a Level 5 Retrofit Coordinator, an AECB CarbonLite graduate, Carbon Literate certified, and a Certified Passivhaus Tradesperson. In practice, that means when Nikki tells you what your home actually needs, it’s backed by proper training — not a sales script.
Ross Lambert — Co-Director
Ross co-directs the business with Nikki and brings over 25 years of site experience to every project. He trained through a carpentry and bench joinery apprenticeship with the University of Oxford’s surveying department, and holds NVQs in both Bench Joinery and Bricklaying — a dual-trade background that’s rare, and lets him move seamlessly between structural and finishing work. He holds a Gold CSCS card, and is both a FENSA approved installer and an EWI Pro approved installer. He is also an approved installer with Diasen and we apply Diathonite, a cork lime based insulating plaster system both by machine and by hand. He has a passion for sustainability and an attention to detail second to none.
Craig — Wet Trades Specialist
Before construction, Craig served as a paratrooper, and that discipline carries straight into his work on site. He’s a fully qualified plasterer and the team’s go-to for wet trades, approved by both Baumit and EWI Pro. He’s not one to stay in his lane, either: lately he’s been honing his bricklaying alongside his plastering, always chasing the next skill to add.
Max — Site Carpenter
Max joined the team at just 16 and has now just passed his Level 3 Site Carpentry apprentice, what an achievement and we are super proud of his hard work.
In that time he’s grown from learning the basics into confidently handling complex second-fix carpentry. He’s also an EWI Pro approved installer, and is a key team member as he hones his carpentry skills and beyond. Always keen to learn , a real asset.
Callum — Site Carpenter
Callum, our youngest team member is working towards his Level 2 in Site Carpentry, and it shows in the care he brings to every detail. He’s also an EWI Pro approved installer. Off site, he keeps fit playing football — and brings that same energy to the tools. He has also just passed his driving test too which will help the team immensely.
Cal — All-Round Improver
Cal is the newest face on the team, building his knowledge of the built environment from the ground up, with a particular interest in low-energy building techniques. He’s already got a sharp eye for detail, and is proving a real asset on site. He has brought in insights from other industries and has been able to transfer these skills onto site. He is also an EWI approved installer and very well versed with spray render applications.
Accreditation you can actually check
Between the six of us, Lambert Home Builds holds accreditations that go well beyond what’s typical for a local contractor — from FMB membership and RetrofitWorks registration to Passivhaus, FENSA, Baumit and EWI Pro certification. It’s part of why we can offer genuinely independent advice: we’re not tied to any single product or scheme, so what we recommend is what’s actually right for your home.
