Our Original Ox Pods provide all the pleasures of alfresco dining without having to worry about the weather. Crafted by hand from exterior-grade sustainable Scandinavian softwood, each pod is designed to withstand the elements whilst providing a cosy dining space throughout the year.

While the Original Ox Pod is designed to be tough and durable, it’s also designed to be moved around your garden easily using the attached carry-handles so it’s always in the perfect spot.

From tablecloths to tableware, heaters to fairy lights, you can easily make your pod your own. Enjoy the natural shades of the timber frame or paint it in your favourite colour, add cushions and a few creature comforts or keep things rustic. The choice is yours.
The Original Ox Pod was designed with the specific needs of the hospitality industry in mind.
Made from incredibly tough marine-grade PVC, the built-in canopy extends from the base of each bench and helps shield customers’ from other social groups around them without blocking their view. The PVC canopy is fire, cold, crack and UV resistant and can be wiped clean with sanitising sprays. A ventilation gap just below the canopy also helps improve airflow within the pod.

The Original Ox Pod.
It’s fair to say we’ve been absolutely blown away by the interest in our Original Ox Pods and the support of our local community who are helping us build them.
Having seen restaurants using greenhouses for socially distanced dining in Amsterdam our curiosity had been sparked. After some pondering Ross set about sketching possible designs and began prototyping with the aim of creating something that not only enabled safe outdoor dining but was comfortable and looked great too. Within two weeks we were supplying pods to our village pub, The White Hart.
A Collaborative Effort.
We’re absolutely thrilled to say the pods have been a real hit, particularly with publicans eager to reopen and revive their businesses. With help from our friends and neighbours we’ve all put our heads together and worked hard to meet demand, sourcing materials from other local businesses where we can. Knowing all our combined efforts are helping to not only put smiles on faces but are helping revive an industry has also strengthened the sense of community in our village.
Doing Our Bit.
We’re an independent family business and have been acutely aware of the effects of Covid-19 on other businesses, particularly those in the hospitality sector. This was very much on our mind as we created the first pods.
Combining Nikki’s experience as a Doctor with Ross’ design and carpentry skills we worked hard to create a dining pod that would not only be a great addition to anyone’s garden but crucially, a comfortable, safe dining solution pubs, restaurants and coffee shops could offer to their customers.
